During GW’s Worldwide Summer Eye of Terror Campaign, our group decided to run a two day Mega Battle based on the campaign.  Since our group loves the ruined city terrain, both days and all tables used the Codex: Cityfight rules.

On the First day, we ran six 4’x6’ tables, each pitting the forces of Order against the forces of Disorder.  Games were 2500 points per player with two players per table.  Each table had a small bonus that would help out that team on the second day.  Examples include a free Baneblade Superheavy tank, Free Space Marne Hero, Free Sisters of Battle Blessings, ect.

One the second day, we combined all the tables into two Mega Tables.  Table 1 (The Eastern District) was 6’x8’ while Table 2 (The Southern District) was 4’x12’.  We now had 3 players per side, per table for a grand total of 12 guys pushing models around.  Each player had a 2500 point army with both sides pulling from local Militia, gang members, cultist, ect (Each side also had 2500 points in IG to distribute however they desired).  Although the tables were in two separate rooms, we “linked” them together by a special rule indicating an underground subway system.  Each table had two terminals and whichever side controlled the terminals could “shuttle” troops to the other table to help its allies out.

Both days were a blast!  In the end, the forces of Order were able to overcome the enemy and drive them from the city.  Below are just a few of the pictures we took.

Dark Angels Prepare to defend the Basilica on Day One

Khorne berserkers storm the Basilica

The Dark Angles were no match for the forces of Disorder (Although Day two saw them avenged as Chaos was forced to flee the planet).

Defend the Necron Tomb...

Our host this day made all the "Desert" terrain in one afternoon as a last minute favor for the group. Pretty impressive!

Blood Angels Storm the Necron Temple

The battle heats up as Assault troops from both sides vie for the stasis unit

Dark Eldar Raiders Try and capture an ancient Stasis Unit

The goal for this Scenario was to capture a recently discovered stasis unit which contained a Pre-Heresy Space Marine Hero. Whoever controlled the unit at the end of the game “convinced” the marine to fight with them. That team would be allowed to include him in the next day’s battle with the stats of “The Emperor’s Champion”.

Day Two in the Eastern District

Dawn of Day Two finds the Praetorian Guard standing watch at the Arbites Precint in the Southern District of the city.

Khorne Berserkers are back for Day Two and start the game with a massive assault on the Arbites Precinct

Perched atop a ruined building, Black Legion Raptors await the order to advance. They are covered by recently “recruited” Guardsmen.

The outer perimeter falls to the blood frenzy of the Berserkers

Last vid-pic record from inside the Arbites building. The bodies of the Scouts were never recovered

Chaos Dreadnoughts advance

With two Close Combat Weapons, the happless tactical squad of Marines were no match for this monstrosity

Nurgle Dreadnought advances through the rubble with a squad of Nurgle Plauge Marines as back up.
