Napoleon's Battles Movement Templates

Joe Underwood (our reigning "Idea Guy") has created movement templates for our Napoleon's Battles games.  These are a great aid when trying to determine if a unit will "fit" in a particular spot.

He has created a template out of card stock for each combat unit, in each possible size and formation (for instance, a 5 stand infantry brigade in Column, another template for a 5 stand infantry brigade in Line and so on).

After he cut the templates out, he glued a small metal sheet to each template.  He used very thin metal miniature bases for this, but any metal will do.  He then glued a small magnet to the end of a wooden dowel to use as a "handle" for the templates (see below).  The handle easily picks up the templates, but can also be removed with just a slight pull.  The magnet is one of the "rare earth magnets" our group uses.
