Well...what can I say, I love this game. On a whim, I asked for the new
Axis and Allies Board Game this Christmas. Being a hard core tabletop
miniature gamer, I had always thought a board game would never satisfy my
strategic appetite....well, I was wrong. This game rocks! We have
spent many hours going over the map and plotting moves for upcoming games.
Being the fanatics we were, we decided that if we are going to push little
models around, they might as well be painted. These are certainly not
wargaming standard paint jobs but look pretty neat on the board.
Here is map with initial placement of forces. We have spent many an hour
pouring over this to help determine the fate of the Free World.

Its hard to see here, but I placed magnets on the bottom of all planes. Then inserted metal rods into carriers so the planes wouldnt fall off.
I know...I'm crazy! |

I didnt paint any of the navy (except for the lone Sub) or much of the Airforce as we seem to never use them. Perhaps some day.

IPCs. We use poker chips for IPCs (instead of the paper money) because we like the way they feel.
