On July 21st, 2004 Casey Hall, Joe Underwood and myself, drove up to
Lancaster, PA to attend our first Historicon. Overall the experience was
great. There were many gorgeous tables with magnificently painted models.
The dealer room was amazing as well...it actually caused the three of us to
catch our breath when we first walked in.
We played in several events including a 1/900th Napoleonic Naval game, a 15mm
Napoleon's Battles game and a 25mm WWII skirmish game in the ruins of
Stalingrad. While we enjoyed all three, I would like to give a special
thanks to Ronald for running the best game we played while at Historicon.
Ronald ran the Battle of Raab (using the Napoleon's Battles rule set) on Friday
morning and provided great terrain as well as fantastic models. It was
evident that he spent time before the game play testing the scenario so as to
provide an enjoyable experience.
Below are a few pictures I took while at the convention broken down by the
day. Most are from various games we observed but did not play in. I have
written a few comments on the three games we did play in. I will apologize
now for any bad pictures. I am lost without my tripod so a few of the pics
are a little fuzzy (hopefully, I have removed the worse offenders).
If I get a chance, I might come back and write battle reports for the three
games we played in.

Casey, running the Audacious, takes fire from the entire French fleet
Casey did a great job of distracting the majority of the French fleet. Alas, it was not enough to secure a British victory and the day went to French. |
