Text Box: Victory At Sea: 1/2400 World War II Naval

We picked up a copy of the Victory at Sea at Historicon 2007.  We have played a few games and like it quite a bit.  You can get more information on Victory at Sea from the Mongoose Website.  I will post more pictures when the rest of my fleet arrives.

January 2008:

My almost Finished Imperial Japanese Fleet

Im still waiting on 3 models to get here and I should be finished with this project. As always, I would love to go back and add more detail...

My Light Cruisers

My horde of Destroyers. The IJN has some hard hitting DDs

More destroyers with some of my Heavy Cruisers in the background

Takao and Myoko class Heavy Cruisers

My Heavy Hitters: 2 Nagato, 1 Ise and 1 Fuso class Battleship

The Ise is the BB/CV conversion with 2 flights of bombers

The heart of my Fleet...the Carriers

The air aspect is one of the main reasons I got into Victory at Sea and with OOB and a few house rules, it works perfect for us.

Zeros, Kates and Vals prepare to destroy the enemies of Japan

Kate Torpedo Bombers

Val Dive Bombers

Zero Fighters

Yamato...what else can I say...

Jake Observation Planes

Land Based Betty Heavy Bombers

August 2007:

My Fledgling Imperial Japanese Fleet.

I did a quick paint job on these to see what they would look like on the table. I need to go back and fix few things like the carrier deck other historical details.

I haven’t decided if I will put name tags on them or not. At the very least I will number the destroyers and subs since I will have more of those than anything else.

The Mighty Yamato

The Planes are from CaPareo. Although 1/1250 scale, I think they fit in nicely with the fleet. Our convention is to have 1 Heavy Bomber, 2 Torpedo or Dive Bombers and 3 Fighters per stand. (Now I just have 50 more to paint...)
